Some 11 teams took part in this season’s Smithdon (Hunstanton) High School cluster water polo tournament.

After first round pool matches teams were then divided into Cup competition, Trophy competition and Plate competition.

In the Cup winners were Redgate Raiders, runners-up Ingoldisthorpe Stingrays, and joint third Dersingham Sharks and Redgate Royals.

In the Trophy winners were Heacham Harriers, runners-up Ingoldisthorpe Swifts, third Dersingham Dolphins and fourth Docking Dynamos.

In the Plate winners were Docking Destroyers, runners-up Heacham Hurricanes and third Brancaster Buccaneers.

There was some teamwork on display and the level of participation was fittingly high for this, the very last inter-school competition to be held in the Smithdon pool before it closes over the summer.

Many thanks go to Jennifer Savage who has promoted water polo within the cluster and got the standard of play to the level it deserves.
