Elderly woman dies following collision with van on King’s Lynn crossing

An elderly woman who was airlifted to hospital after a collision with a van in Lynn has died.

The woman, who has been named locally as 79-year-old Heather Jane Lord, passed away last night having been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Railway Road after the incident, which happened on a pedestrian crossing near the Norfolk Street turning at around 10.10am.

Police said she was found to have serious head injuries and multiple broken bones after being hit by a silver Peugeot van.

Members of her family confirmed the news on social media this morning and said they were devastated but thankful for the support they had received.
