Topping out ceremony at King's Lynn Academy. Principal Craig Morrison places the traditional evergreen branch.

King’s Lynn Academy principal Craig Morrison placed a traditional evergreen branch on the roof of the secondary school during a topping out ceremony held on Wednesday.

The evergreen branch is intended to welcome good spirits into the new building and celebrate its growth.

The new £10.5 million building provides a link between the existing north and south buildings at the school in Queen Mary Road and will form the new main entrance. Construction is due to be completed in April.

So far the project has seen extensive refurbishment to the existing teaching areas in the south building, breathing new life into the Academy’s facilities.
