Snowdrop walk at Lexham Hall cancelled because of wintry conditions

DEEP snow and the continuing freezing conditions have caused the cancellation of a charity fundraising group’s first snowdrop walk of the year on Sunday (February 12).

Lexham Hall, near Litcham, was to have hosted the first of four snowdrop walks planned for locations in Norfolk during February and early March by the National Gardens Scheme.

The hall grounds include meandering walks through several acres of snowdrops and an extensive collection of unusual winter flowering and scented shrubs.

But NGS spokesman Graham Watts told the Lynn News: “We have been monitoring the conditions all week but the current weather forecast shows no sign of a thaw which would reveal the snowdrops currently under a thick layer of snow.”
