WELNEY: Stunning swan pictures from reserve - SEE PICS

editorial image

Volunteers at WWT Welney braved the cold yesterday to take these stunning pictures of the swans out in the wetlands surrounding the centre.

Just before the fog fell across Welney and the rest of West Norfolk, the swans could be seen swooping across the lake and testing out the frozen ground.

With regular feedings, the swans have had plenty of chance to stock up on seed but all birds are in need of fresh water when temperatures plummet below freezing.

Not just birds on wetlands sites like Welney, but also in our reader’s back gardens - don’t forget to provide them with water this weekend.
