Nursery managers have submitted plans to expand their headquarters in order to provide additional services for babies and toddlers.
Swaffham Pre-School already caters for 54 children at its premises in the grounds of the town’s Junior Academy on Brandon Road.
But it also has a waiting list of 58 youngsters looking for places.
Officials have submitted an application for planning permission to install a fifth modular building on the site.
The extension would enable the group to accommodate babies and toddlers aged from three months to two years.
Group manager Tia Grinsell said that, although they already have one baby on roll at the moment, they are unable to look after any more without the extension.
She said: “There’s only one other setting in Swaffham that accommodates babies and we have parents coming to us that are wanting us to take babies.”
She described their waiting list as “huge” and said it contained youngsters of all ages that the group caters for.
Mrs Grinsell added that, if approved, it is hoped the new extension will be opened in late May. Documents submitted to Breckland council as part of the application confirmed that no alterations are planned
