Sixty years on from travelling by rail to Cornwall on their honeymoon, Geoffrey and Diana Vincent took a sentimental journey.

The couple celebrated their diamond wedding with lunch on the North Norfolk Railway accompanied by friends and family.

Married at Saints Peter and Paul church at Fakenham, Mrs Vincent recalls that they were the first couple to be allowed to have (one) wedding photograph taken inside the church after the register had been signed.

Both also recalled renewing their vows in front of an audience in the same church demonstrating how the service should be performed.

It was apparently more nerve-racking than the real thing.

Mr Vincent is well known in Fakenham for his long career with local builder Fisher & Sons and subsequently since retirement his voluntary work which has included driving the Age Concern bus, helping out at the gas museum and as a member of the Oddfellows.

Mrs Vincent (née Reeve) worked at Butcher Andrews solicitors before having enjoying a career as school secretary at what was then Fakenham County Primary.

They both enjoy gardening and their holidays to Tenerife.

The couple have one son and daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters, who organised the diamond wedding celebration and a £250 collection for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
