Volunteers are needed to support the work of the Friends of Fakenham Museum of Gas and Local History.
New people to help with fundraising, publicity, IT and website, stewarding and manning the sales area on site will enable the museum to extend its scope and broaden its appeal.
The time involved can be up to the individual with a chance to socialise and meet visitors from all parts of the country.
The museum is the only surviving town gasworks in England and Wales, complete with all equipment used for the manufacture of gas from coal: retorts, condenser, purifiers, meter and gasholder.
There is a nominal annual sub of £5 to join the Friends and if you are interested, call in to the museum or telephone 01553 762151. You may also like to attend an induction session on the morning of Thursday, May 28, on site.
