The employment history of a retired cold store manager is to be investigated before his full inquest takes place.
Seventy-two-year-old John Beck, of Salmon’s Way, Fakenham, died at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital on December 23. Norfolk coroner William Armstrong opened the inquest into his death in Norwich earlier this month.
He said the post-mortem examination showed malignant pleural mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer usually caused by exposure to high levels of asbestos, and deep vein thrombosis among the causes of his death.
The coroner adjourned the inquest so that he can be provided with more detail of Mr Beck’s working history.
