There are just a few days left to enter the unsung heroes into the West Norfolk Mayor’s awards.

The voluntary service award recognises the people who give their time and expertise to help others or raise vital funds for charity.

Organisers will be accepting nominations until the deadline on Friday.

Forms are available from the Civic Officer by calling 01553 762124) or email at: Nomination forms can also be downloaded from the mayoral section of the West Norfolk Council’s website. Mayor Elizabeth Watson is urging people to submit their entries before Friday’s deadline.

She said: “Without these people life in West Norfolk would not be the same and we are so lucky that our volunteers are prepared to give up their time to enrich the lives of so many, with no financial reward. We are all incredibly grateful to these unsung heroes and I would urge local people to put forward their nominations”.

Nominees must either live within the borough and have provided voluntary service or raised funds for charity since at least January 1, 2011. Those living boundaries must have supported the community or fundraised since January 1, 2011.
