A costume design student from Downham has showcased her skills at two national shows in July.

Tiffany Crosson-Smith, 20, studies at the University of Huddersfield, and along with her coursemate Ryan Boulton, created an outfit with references to the Yorkshire countryside, as well as elements of disinfectant brand Zoflora’s fragrance Green Valley.

The designs were then shown at the Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Flower Show and then modelled on the catwalk at the Great Yorkshire Show. Tiffany and Ryan’s costume was one of just five that was shortlisted by a judging panel made up of representatives from Zoflora, the university and the Great Yorkshire Show.

At the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, their creation was worn by former Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson in the Zoflora garden.

Tiffany said: “The whole thing was a fantastic experience, and will certainly assist me in my future career.”
