Lynn Town’s second string had four teenagers on target as they hit rock-bottom Cornard United for six on Saturday.

Eoin McQuaid (2), James Dougal, Nathan Daw and Jack Frohawk all registered, with veteran campaigner Kevin White also adding his name to the scoresheet.

Lynn found themselves 3-0 up, before the hosts pulled it back to 3-2, but Lynn’s class shone with three more goals in the second period.

Assistant manager Ross McNeil said: “It was a strong, disciplined display by ourselves and whatever happens from here we’ve had a great first season at this level.

“We went to Cornard on the back of two bad results but showed excellent character against a side fighting for their lives. James Spittlehouse was excellent for us.

“Although we still have lots to play for in terms of finishing in the top-six, we are already looking towards next season and some of the youngsters coming through.”

Next up for King’s Lynn Town Reserves is a home clash against Halstead before a big local derby at Swaffham Town a week tonight.
