The Limes House offices of the Lynn News had some special visitors on Tuesday when Year 3 and Year 4 pupils of Gayton Primary School paid a visit to learn all about newspapers.

The children have been studying a topic of Magic Carpet Reporters this term and were very excited to visit a real newspaper office. They saw the staff putting together the Lynn News and were able to ask questions.

Among the things they found interesting were how reporters use shorthand .

They were pleased to see some of the pictures of their school the paper has taken.

The children were also shown old copies of the paper, including one from 100 years ago reporting on the First World War.

The children were accompanied by teachers Kelly Watts and Karen Papworth.

Mrs Watts said the children greatly enjoyed their visit and learned a lot.
