Well-known Lynn wrestler Jim Cambridge is launching a new women’s self-defence class next week.
Jim, who is better known under his fighting name Jimmy Starr, will start the programme at the Gaywood Community Centre this Tuesday at 6pm.
He said the programme aimed to teach women practical skills that they can use in close contact situations.
He said: “It’s real life scenarios. It’s trying to be as close to real life as possible.”
Although he has taught self-defence classes for children before, it will be the first time that Jim has delivered a similar class for women.
But he believes the programme is needed.
He said: “Some self-defence classes are very good but not always very practical. I enjoy coaching and teaching new skills.”
