Energetic sports challenges and tasty food will be all part of the fun at a family day in Downham next week.
Norfolk County Council will be running a Fun Food and Fitness family activity day at Downham Youth Centre in Paradise Road, on Saturday, from 1pm to 4pm.
Run by Norfolk County Council Public Health, the event will teach visitors to eat healthily and get active.
One of the attractions on the day will be the Joy of Food cooking demonstration.
Visitors they can attempt to make new recipes including a Healthy Chicken Pot Noodle dish.
Professional nutritionists will also be on hand to give advice on diets.
A number of sporty challenges will be on offer including a smoothie bike which will power a blender to create a healthy snack.
The event will also include a Nail Art Bar will provide the chance for a bit of a breather.
Performances will take place throughout the day from The Marquettes, while MOMO Theatre will be performing a comedy lecture entitled You’ve Made a Meal of That!
Paul Smyth, chairman of the communities committee, is encouraging people to attend. He said: “We all know how important it is to look after our health, and this free event will hopefully help local families pick up useful tips on cooking, eating and exercise that will encourage them to lead healthy lifestyles.”
