Eastgate Academy raised £1,000 from its end of academic year grand fiesta.

Carole Walker and Karen Mason, learning catalysts for the academy, organised the community event with the aim of raising enough money to fund a new sound system for the school hall.

Carole Walker said: “We were ecstatic that, despite the weather, there was a really good turnout and great support from parents and the local community.

“We had a great range of activities on offer and I hope that we have raised a good amount of money for the academy.”

The summer fiesta was a whole community event with fairground rides, a licensed bar, barbecue and competitions with great prizes and games.
