Twins Imogen and Charlotte Morris, from Great Massingham, had cause for double celebration when they both passed their driving tests for the first time on the same day.
They took their tests, which were held consecutively, last month having been taught by Brian Chandler, of Minischool driving school in Harpley, and were delighted with the results.
Imogen, who had the second test, didn’t want to see her sister, Charlotte, before her attempt, as she would have known just by looking at her what the result had been.
She said: “If I had seen her face, I would have known straight away. Charlotte left the test centre with Dad after she had taken her test. Then when they came back to meet me, we were both smiling from ear to ear.”
Instructor Brian said: “They are not identical, so at least I knew who I was teaching, but they got twin results. They were good first passes on the same day.”
He first started teaching them in December.
“They are both good rounded drivers. On the day, when Imogen returned from her test, Charlotte and her father came back to the test centre to hear the result.
“I gave a thumbs up and there was a big group hug!”
Imogen and Charlotte both had their first driving lessons on their 17th birthday last year, November 5.
Said Imogen: “We both passed our theory tests first time, too, in December. Although we are quite different in character, we have often done things together since we were children.”
Both sisters are now enjoying driving their own cars. “It’s a bit scary going out on your own to start with, but now it’s really nice to have our own freedom with our cars,” said Imogen.
The sisters are both doing apprenticeships. Imogen is a child care apprentice at Docking Day Care in Well Street and is studying for a Level 2 qualification. Charlotte is a customer adviser at Fakenham Fitness Centre, where she is an apprentice studying business administration.
