Guides will be adding a splash of colour to a restored play area in Dersingham over the weekend.

The Hunstanton Road play area has received a £37,000 make over after Dersingham Parish Council received a grant from WREN.

Parish councillors and village Task Force worked together to dig out a new flower bed, which will be planted up tomorrow by the guides.

The plants have been sponsored by James Graven’s Budgens, supplied by Thaxters Garden Centre, and are a mixture of English Lavender, Sedum, Sea Holly, and Geranium.

In the autumn, a willow arch will be planted by children from Dersingham Primary School, and a small copse of Silver Birch will be created.

Sue Payne, parish council chairman, said: “It has been great seeing the new play equipment being used by children of all ages; we have had some lovely comments from parents and carers. The planting schemes will enhance the area and make it a lovely place to sit as well as play.

“We are extremely grateful to Jonathan James, James Graven’s Budgens for their sponsorship and to Thaxters for help in supplying the plants.”
