We Brits love a good curry and as Britain’s favourite dish is reputed to be chicken tikka masala, it is not surprising that Hunstanton’s Northgate Indian has a loyal following.
Celebrating 20 years in business in the town, some of the diners who attended the opening night of the restaurant on December 1, 1994, joined owner Josh Ali and his staff on Monday for an evening of celebration.
Richard Bird said; “I came to the opening night and despite it being a very cold evening, the place was packed such was the excitement in the town about an Indian restaurant opening here. I’m really pleased to be here tonight 20 years on celebrating with Josh and his family.”
Serving a wide variety of classic dishes alongside the house specialities, owner Josh Ali put his success down to his family. He said; “ The past 20 years have been such a whirlwind; since opening up the Northgate restaurant I have passed on my knowledge and expertise to my son and nephews, all of whom work alongside me in the restaurant.
“We believe that the family business we have built up helps us to maintain a high level of customer service and we are proud of the good reputation we enjoy in today’s competitive market.
“We have worked hard and we thank all of our diners for their continued custom and support because without them we would not be here today.”
