A 70-year-old man from Heacham has appeared in court this week accused of making and possessing indecent images of children.

Thomas Healey, of Lodge End in the village, was brought before Norwich Crown Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing, following an initial appearance before Lynn Magistrates’ Court last month.

He faces nine allegations of making indecent images, which are said to have been committed on or before April 4 this year, as well as charges of possessing indecent and prohibited images on the same date.

All of the alleged offences are said to have been committed in Heacham.

He is also charged with two counts of failing to answer to police or court bail in Lynn on October 14.

The case was adjourned until January 12, 2015, when a plea and case management hearing has been scheduled to take place.

Healey was released on conditional bail until his next court date.
