A couple from Clenchwarton have hosted a five-a-side football tournament in aid of the hospital unit which looked after their baby daughter.
Scott and Jemma Seekings organised the fun day to raise money for Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) which nursed Jessa two years ago.
Jessa was born in March 2014, at just 24 weeks, and spent the first seven weeks of her life at hospitals in London and Norwich, before spending a further 10 weeks in the QEH.
The charity tournament, which raised more than £900 for the unit, had around 250 people get involved in the event.
Mr Seekings said: “Everything went superbly well – even the weather! We had a wide mix of teams taking part, from Clenchwarton and West Lynn mens teams and teams who were made up from players who had hung their boots up a few years ago.”
The tournament was held on Sunday, August 14 and the games were played from 10.30am till 3pm.
Lawn games donated by South Lynn Scouts and crafstmen from Meadow Made Vintage kept the families entertained while the football was ongoing.
Tea, cakes and strawberries and cream were served by a group of volunteers.
Mr Seekings said that the facilities for the fundraising day were made available to them by Clenchwarton Youth Football Club.
