Arthritis sufferers can talk to someone about the problems they face with the condition at a new drop-in point in Gaywood.
In 2013 Arthritis Care developed a new, peer-led support Arthritis Community Champion service to help improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of people with arthritis through supported self management.
People with arthritis can have a chat, get information and self management tips and be directed to helpful local services.
The drop-in point in Gaywood will be at the library in River Lane on Thursdays, August 28, November 6 and December 4, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Arthritis is the most common cause of chronic pain in the UK and can have a devastating impact on people’s lives.
It accounts for one in five of all GP visits. People have highlighted concerns about their independence, mobility, and the risk of becoming socially isolated. Depression due to the pain and loss of confidence has also been highlighted as a concern.
