At least 23 yard sales will be taking place in Flitcham on Easter Sunday in a major fundraising push for the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.
The sales have been organised by Val Blackmur and her friends from the village who have been fundraising since November to raise £7,000 for a Sanctuary Room at the new hospice at Hillington.
They are almost halfway to achieving their target figure and they are hoping that their yard sales will take them well over the £3,500 mark.
The 23 yards will be open in the village between 9am and midday. The community centre will be open providing refreshments and selling a range of various items to raise extra funds.
The organisers plan to raise the remainder of the money with a bingo and Victorian Christmas bazaar, which last year kickstarted the fundraising efforts raising over £3,000. They raised an additional £200 with a New 2 You sale in the village last month.
The Santuary Room at the £3.4 million hospice will provide a space for patients, vistors, volunteers and staff to go to sit and reflect.
