Public meeting on NHS
A PUBLIC meeting will be held next month to fight against proposed changes to the NHS.
Lynn Trades Council says it is concerned that the Government’s proposals for the NHS will create a two-tier health service.
The proposal will consist of GPs taking over from primary care trusts to commission hospital services.
Hospitals will also be able to take on private patients.
The trades council, have worked with the Labour party and Unison to organise a public meeting in Lynn Town Hall on Friday, March 2, from 7pm.
Speakers includie anti-spending cuts campaigner Richard Murphy, Luton MP Gavin Shuker, parliamentary candidate Peter Smith and Jan Ainsley, from Keep Our NHS Public, and Kathy Sanders.
The meeting will be encouraging people to sign a petition.
The trades council’s Jo Rust said: “It is important that people register their opposition to the bill.”
