A Lynn charity that helps young people take their first steps towards a career in the motor industry welcomed the High Sheriff of Norfolk into its workshop on Monday.

Lady Dannatt MBE visited Open Road West Norfolk to find out more about the charity, which offers work experience and mechanical training for students in Years 10 and 11.

Open Road, based in Rollesby Road, opened its doors five years ago and now provides 15 students a day the chance to study towards industry recognised qualifications.

During the visit, Lady Dannatt said: “The work done here is simply fantastic. It’s so exciting to see students gripped by their passion for cars and gain access into a career in something they really love.”
