Generous villagers have helped to boost the charity coffers.

People in Hilgay have raised a fantastic £2,700 for Serv Blood bikes charity.

Butcher Ali Dent organised another popular book sale in the village hall during October while Gill Wilson ran a quiz in September.

Villagers presented the proceeds of both events to Robin Attlesey on Saturday.

Mr Dent has thanked residents and friends for their generosity.

He said: “It was a great amount to raise for a really good cause.”

Serv volunteers have been providing a rapid response service since 1981.
