Searles Resort Golf Club held their fifth annual gala day, in aid of the Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) with great success
Organised by Searles Captains Rob Hill, Margaret Kent and Mike Trebbick with help from golf manager Edward Howes and PGA Professional Ray Stocker, as well as input from many active members of the club, a superb day was had by members and visitors alike with events for all.
Thirty-six members and guests competed in a Mixed Texas Scramble, which was a close run competition for the top teams, the winners were Dave Cox, Philip Duke and Jan Wright with a net score of 30.5, coming in second were Rob Hills, Mike Trebbick and Jan Yearn on net 31.3.
Other events that ran included a nine-hole Stableford which was open to all, this was won by junior member Callum Buttress with 21 points, a putting competition was won, after a putt off, by Rob Hills.
A fishing competition also took place with the largest fish of the day winning, fisherman Leisure Resort guest Dave Edge won landing a 12lb carp from the well-stocked Searles lakes.
Gala Day visitors were able to enjoy a BBQ and Searles entertainment team provided face painting and female vocalist Vicky entertained everyone, a tombola, raffle and other activities also raised money for NARS.
Throughout the day a Total of £550 was raised.
