Holkham Hall has won two prizes at the annual Hudson’s Heritage Awards, which were announced on Tuesday.
The stately home received the trophies for Best Family Day Out and Best Shopping.
The awards follow a £4.5 million renovation of the hall’s facilities for visitors last year.
The work included the creation of a new courtyard cafe and gift shop, plus the interactive Field to Fork exhibition. Lady Leicester, pictured above centre alongside Margaret Chubbock, right as she received one of the awards from Viscountess Cobham, said: “We are delighted to have won these awards.
“They demonstrate the high standards and commitment we offer our visitors to ensure their experience is the very best.
“We are delighted to have the acknowledgment and recognition that Holkham Hall and our Gift Shop are amongst the elite of heritage attractions in the UK.”
Sarah Greenwood, director of Hudson’s, said: “The finalists showcased an amazing range of experiences just waiting for us all to enjoy at Britain’s heritage places.
“This year they include three World Heritage Sites but also iconic castles, public buildings, unusual gardens and stunning country houses several of which are not well known.
“We would like to congratulate them all on setting the standards for others to follow.”
