The Hunstanton Charity Shop’s annual presentation to charities chosen by its volunteers took place on Monday.

The Hunstanton RNLI, the East Anglian Children’s Hospice and the RSPCA centre at East Winch received cheques for £8,000 each.

Shop manager Angela Green said: “We are delighted to make these donations to three such important causes.

“I’d like to thank all the volunteers and everyone who donates to and purchases from the shop.

“We are always looking for more helpers. Even if you can only spare a couple of hours you’d be welcome.”

Margaret Bullen accepted the RNLI’s cheque, with Emma Lord for EACH and Alison Charles for the RSPCA.

All three expressed thanks and said they had earmarked special projects for the money.

This is the third year the shop has supported the RNLI and spokesman Geoff Needham said: “We are very grateful for this donation that will be used for vitally important equipment and training.”

A further £1000 is to be donated to NARS (Norfolk Accident Rescue Service) and £250 to Hunstanton Community Orchard in the next few days.
