The beautiful parish church of St Edmund’s Hunstanton hosted a display of vestments and flowers depicting the Liturgical Year.
Sandra Robinson put forward the idea of holding a festival over the bank holiday weekend that is a little different from the ones held at St Edmund’s before.
She masterminded the event, alongside Jillian Tyrrell.
They called in flower arrangers from the congregation of St Edmund’s and the sister church of St Andrew’s Ringstead, to organise over thirty different floral arrangements to complement the vestments that were displayed on mannequins around the church.
Starting with the purple and rose pink for Advent near the font, the colours of the liturgical year flowed around the church through white, blue, red, gold, green and also included choir dress and the black for requiems.
Contributing to the event, the Princess Theatre, Scent with Love Florists, Hunstanton Town Council, Hunstanton Gardeners and the Rotary Club provided sponshorship for some of the larger arrangements.
Churchwarden Jane Wood said: “The response from visitors has been fantastic and we’ve been able to share the traditions and colours of the church year with the display of the vestments alongside some wonderful flower arrangements.”
A popular stop for visitors was the Church Hall where teas, delicious home-made cakes and snacks were served.
