Foregoing their traditional ‘Secret Santa’ presents, students from the College of West Anglia Child Care Level 3 course chose to spend their money instead on gifts and food for those in need.

Arriving at Hunstanton food bank with pre-wrapped gifts for adults and children Beth Gedge, Afra Hurn, Lauren Lee and Sophie Regan were particularly keen to help families with small children.

During their visit they asked many questions and got to hear about how the food bank operates from volunteer Richard Bird. Their college tutor Sasha Courtney-Jenner said: “I’m really proud of these students who in their first term came up with this idea and contributed so much to their community rather than thinking of themselves.”
