Veteran Hunstanton fundraiser David Foulkes is preparing to get on his bike later this month to raise funds for cancer care at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Mr Foulkes, 72, will complete a 20-mile sponsored ride between Hunstanton and Lynn on Saturday, July 19, to help a cause that has long been close to his heart.

He said: “For the last 10 years I have been raising money for lots of cancer charities.

“I have been training for this bike ride for a month. I wish to help people who are affected by cancer to live longer and happier lives. I have friends who are affected, some of whom have sadly passed away.

“I will start at Hunstanton, pass through Heacham, Snettisham, Ingoldisthorpe, Dersingham and stop in the gardens of Sandringham House. I will then continue via Castle Rising and Gaywood, before finally arriving at the hospital.”

The ride will start from the Driftwood care home in Southend Road, Hunstanton at 8am on the day. Mr Foulkes aims to reach Sandringham by 11.30am and arrive at the hospital at around 4pm.

Anyone who wants to sponsor him can do so online at Foulkes.
