An 11-year-old girl from
Brancaster Staithe has been given help to achieve her dream of succeeding in sport by her local Lions club.

Hunstanton Lions were pleased to support talented table tennis player Mollie Patterson with a sponsorship cheque of £350 to help towards her coaching with the National squad at Lilleshall.

Mollie is an up-and-coming talent, already ranked third in the England under-13 age group and is in the England Youth training squad.

She has been playing since she was eight years old and this year was Norfolk champion at under 13, under 15 and under 18 age groups and has represented the Eastern Region Schools in Jersey.

Mollie, who attends Smithdon High School, also plays for Heacham, along with her father James, in the King’s Lynn Table Tennis Association’s Premier League.

Chris Holt, secretary of Hunstanton Lions Club said: “A budding star of the future!”
