A drink for a friend’s birthday ended up in a three-year driving ban for Hunstanton pensioner John Pickering.
The 76-year-old, of Willow Road, appeared before Lynn magistrates on Wednesday and admitted drink-driving on November 10.
A breath test revealed 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.
The court heard he was stopped by police in the High Street after they saw him swerving across the road and driving very slowly.
Pickering was also fined £300 with £115 costs.
