Celebrating in style the members of the Hunstanton Stroke Association greeted borough mayor Colin Manning and mayoress Julie Manning to the Methodist Hall in Hunstanton.

Normally of course they just call her Julie because it was she, along with Gemma Smith, who founded the group back in 2011.

She said: “At first we were just a very small group and we used to play dominoes and draughts but now we have a full range of activities including extend exercises, an art group, relaxation for carers and outings too.”

Former sergeant major and group member Diane Boisson baked a special cake in the Stroke Association’s colours for the party and entertainment came from the Wolf Folk Group.

Colin Haywood and Katie Vertigan represented Sainsbury’s, who have chosen the group as its charity of the year.
