It’s almost time for King’s Lynn’s first scooter and motorbike show.
This Sunday, the Tuesday Market Place will host the Mods and Rockers Scooter and Motorbike Meet.
Some 150 bikes are expected at the event which will showcase 1960s models and more modern bikes.
Show categories include: Best Motorbike; Best Scooter; Best British Bike and Best Custom scooter/bike, and the public will be invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award.
Organisers will also be looking for the Best Dressed Mod and Rocker too.
The meet is set to create quite a spectacle in the historic market square, with many of the vehicles sporting flamboyant paint work and demonstrating the attention to detail that all enthusiasts will applaud.
Expect to see plenty of Vespas, Lambrettas and who knows, perhaps the occasional Harley Davidson on display.
Rock ’n’ Roll band, Mind the Gap and punk inspired, The Yesterdays will be joined by The Extons, to create a real festival feel to the day and there will be a chance to settle friendly rivalries, as people are invited to go head to head on the motorbike simulators to see who can clock up the best track times.
The event is free of charge. During the day there will be a voluntary collection for SERV emergency blood bikes.
The Mods and Rockers Scooter and Motorbike Meet is organised by the West Norfolk Council and sponsored by BikeSure Insurance.
