The children of Greyfriars Primary School in Lynn have paid homage to one of the great American avant-garde painters by creating an artwork in the style of Jackson Pollock.

All 26 children of the reception class, plus teachers and assistants, joined in creating the colourful abstract work.

Teacher and school arts co-ordiantor Lesley Goodes said the children very much enjoyed the creative process.

“They squeezed bottles of paints and used brushes to flick colour onto the canvas,” she said.

The school has an Artsmark Gold from the Arts Council for its excellence in art.
