A new president has taken over the chain of office with the Swaffham Lions club.

John Collins, pictured above right, has succeeded Colin Mowles, left, who held the role for 18 months following the sudden death of his predecessor, Rod Goodwin, in January last year.

Mr Collins, who only joined the club three years ago, described the role as “daunting”, but said he was looking forward to his term in office.

Mr Collins, who lives in Narborough, served in the RAF for 35 years until 1999. He then became a security manager for a large IT company until his retirement in 2013.
