Bethany Bishop-Laggett posted about her experience on Facebook and said her friends were turned away due to their outfit choices.

She said: “Nowhere does it state no converse or no leggings anywhere, so how can you pick and choose which girls you let in?”

Rachael Castleton said: “Hearing lots of things about strict dress codes at Bar&Beyond.

“You’ve reopened a two bit bar in a small Norfolk town. It’s not the Ritz.”

Lee-Jay Scott said: “From the sounds of it Donald Trump would let more people in his place than there.”

The opening nights on Friday and Saturday saw former The Only Way Is Essex stars Lauren Pope and Mark Wright take to the decks at Bar&Beyond, which has had a £450,000 revamp.

A spokeswoman for Bar&Beyond said: “We opened our doors this weekend and have had some brilliant feedback – thanks to all those that came along and checked us out.

“We’re sorry some customers were turned away – we’re a premium venue, bringing an exciting new experience to Lynn and hope that people will dress for the occasion.”
