A team of cab drivers have been left hundreds of pounds out-of-pocket after a phone fault stopped customers getting through for an entire day.
Drivers with Abbey Cars, in Norfolk Street, Lynn, were furious that it took numerous calls to BT to get the problem resolved.
Kev Kingham, of Pott Row, one of 20 or so drivers who works on a self-employed basis for the firm, said: “We went down from four jobs an hour to one job every three hours if we were lucky.
“I was looking forward to spending five days this Christmas with my sons and grandson and that is going to dwindle to two now.
“We are also worried about the knock-on effect it could have in the New Year if our customers don’t realise we are still here and operating. It is just so damaging.”
Phones were off at the firm between 10.50am Tuesday and 12pm Wednesday.
A BT spokesman said: “We are sorry for the problems that have been encountered, we have been urgently looking at this.”
