Lecturers at the College of West Anglia’s Lynn campus, pictured above, swapped the classroom for the picket line on Tuesday as they went on strike as part of a national pay dispute.

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) took part in industrial action against a continuing pay freeze imposed by the Association of Colleges (AoC).

The strike was called after the union’s demand for a £1 per hour wage increase for its members was rejected.

Union officials said they were encouraged by the level of public support for the strike, though the college claimed it had only caused “minimal” disruption to classes.
