Lynn couple Peter and Brenda White certainly did their bit to raise a smile over the Festive period.

Peter dressed up as Santa and wife Brenda kitted herself out as an elf and they headed into Lynn town centre on a mobility scooter to bring some Christmas cheer.

The couple first dressed up for the Christmas shoppers last year and it proved so popular that they decided to do so again, and they have no intention of stopping.

Brenda said: “We just wanted to go out and cheer everyone up.

“Everyone needs to enjoy themselves at this time of year and it went well when we did it last year so we have decided to make it an annual thing.

“The kids seemed to enjoy seeing us dressed up and we made people laugh.”

Peter had previously donned his Santa outfit for a worthwhile cause days earlier when raising money for the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind.

Peter, who is registered blind, spent two hours collecting at Tesco Hardwick and has now raised close to £1,000 in various collections this year.

Before his latest collection, he had raised £885 for the charity and he could even go into four figures once the amount from his latest efforts are added.

Brenda added: “I think he is brilliant. He usually raises around £60-90 per collection so he will be close to reaching £1,000 for the year and possibly above it if the latest collection went well.”
