Lynn estate Agents Millsopps and solicitors Ward Gethin Archer have joined forces to help a vital cancer care service in the community.

Their fundraising partnership follows on from a similar successful arrangement last year.

Gary Davison, manager at Millsopps, said: “We jointly raised £2,000 last year as a contribution towards a chemotherapy pump for the cancer care ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This year we are determined to raise £2,500 for cancer care in the community.”

The Community Cancer Support Service is a two-year pilot run by Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust and funded by the West Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group.

The service helps cancer patients cope with their lives before, during and after treatment. The team, consisting of two cancer nurse specialists and two support workers, delivers individualised care to patients in their homes.

Nicky Dobson, community cancer nurse specialist, and clinical lead, said: “We offer patients emotional and psychological support, advice on managing symptoms, post treatment support, advice about health and wellbeing, and other practical issues.

“We are delighted Millsopps have offered this generous donation as we can put it towards initiatives that will help us to further provide support for patients and their families.”

Simon Wilson, partner at Ward Gethin Archer, Lynn, said: “We are very pleased to support Cancer Care again this year by partnering with Millsopps, and like to do what we can to support local charities in the area.”

Millsopps are donating £50 for every new instruction gained before the end of 2014. Ward Gethin Archer are donating £50 for every completed sale sold via Millsopps before December 31. The companies have a combined total so far of £1,250 so are well on the way to achieving their goal.
