As many wait to tuck into their Easter eggs this weekend, representatives of several Lynn firms were more concerned about not dropping theirs.

That’s because they spent part of their Thursday taking part in the latest town business challenge organised by officials from the Vancouver Quarter shopping precinct.

Following on from last month’s pancake races, this time the teams were trying their hands – and feet – at three-legged egg and spoon racing.

Staff from Wilko’s claimed the title, beating KL.FM in the final.

Ward Gethin Archer, last year’s champions, and Ring Associates came third and fourth respectively with Primark taking the wooden spoon.

“A huge thanks to the business teams for coming out in the wet and cold to take on this egg and spoon business challenge,” said Vancouver Quarter marketing and events assistant David Blackmore.

“It wasn’t best weather for egg and spoon racing but they all made the most of it.”

The business challenges started three years ago as a way for companies across the town to get out and meet other firms.

The egg and spoon races were the second challenge of the year so far.

A Beat the Goalie event has been planned for June and a fourth mystery challenge is scheduled for September.

The team which scores the most points across all four events will win the overall competition and a donation to a charity of their choice.
