A one-stop shop for health, exercise, beauty and nutrition will open its doors next month as a rapidly expanding fitness firm moves to bigger premises.

Less than a year after opening its first functional fitness centre at Plaxtole House in Lynn, Motiv8 Exercise and Fitness is relocating to the North Lynn Industrial Estate to launch a new health and well-being centre.

The centre, in Bergen Way, will open in early August after plans to change the use of the unit were approved by West Norfolk Council.

One nearby business objected to the proposals, for reasons including there being a “high concentration of similar facilities in Lynn and on the estate”, but planners agreed the venture would provide the community with something different.

The new centre will not only offer the fitness classes Motiv8 has become known for – such as Metafit, Bootcamp and Hiit Fit – but it will also offer hairdressing, beauty therapy, sports massage, nutrition seminars and even tattooing, all under one roof.

Motiv8 owner and lead instructor Mark Flowers explained: “The aim of the centre is for it to be a place where you can go to feel good about yourself, whether that be through exercise or through a beauty treatment. It is not a gym; our purpose and intentions reach far wider than that. We help build people’s confidence and help them change their lifestyles for the better.”

Mr Flowers said Motiv8 had come a long way since its launch in 2013, when he left his role as a Royal Navy physical trainer to bring military fitness to his home town.

“It’s exciting to see how many people have joined us, challenged themselves and seen fantastic results,” he said.

The expansion means the company will now be able to offer members 60 instructed fitness classes a week – up from 41 – and open for longer hours, from 6am to 10pm.

The new centre will also boast the biggest fitness studio in Lynn, as well as showering facilities and car parking.

To celebrate the launch, the first 100 people to join Motiv8 will receive an unlimited membership for £29.99 instead of £44.33 (gym/functional fitness centre only memberships start at £14.99).
