Staff of a Gaywood funeral director cleaned up at the weekend as they staged a fundraising car wash.

The buckets and sponges were out at the Co-operative Funeralcare branch in Wootton Road on Saturday in aid of Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Funeral director John Barry, pictured above, second left, said: “We’re new to the area and it’s our contribution to the community.

“They (Scotty’s) do a great job for the bereaved families.”

The event raised a total of £130 for the Lynn-based charity, which supports the children of fallen servicemen and women. Supporters were charged £5 to have their cars cleaned by the team.
