Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital is offering a unique opportunity for ten medical students.

The trust is offering to help aspiring physician associates complete a masters degree with a guaranteed job offer at the end.

Physician associates support doctors and patients, provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, along with developing care management strategies.

The students, who must apply by August 31 and hold an upper second class honours degree, will enrol on the new MSc Physician Associates Studies course at Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia. The new intake begins in January and Health Education East of England is making available bursaries of £8,500 with students expected to pay the remaining £500 per year.

Medical director Dr Beverley Watson said: “Physician associates will be an invaluable part of the future structure of UK Healthcare. Completing the course at our Trust will mean substantial contact time with patients working under the supervision of doctors.”

The information events will be held on September 2 and 3. To register an interest download the form at http://bit.ly/1hiMR2n and send it to sharon.carter@qehkl.nhs.uk
