A man was caught trying to hide cannabis from police when they visited his home.

Adam Kirk, 20, of London Road, Lynn, pleaded guilty to possession of the class B drug when he appeared in court on Monday.

Police had visited his flat on June 18 in connection with a separate inquiry.

However, as they arrived, they saw him trying to hide 1.2 grams of the drug under a duvet.

Kirk later told officers it had been for his personal use and mitigating solicitor George Sorrell said the substance was a “weakness” for him.

Kirk was given a 12 month conditional discharge and told to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
