Multi-million pound plans to develop the former Lynn Post Office have been put on hold.

Telereal Trillium received planning permission to convert the Baxter’s Plain site into flats, business units and a medical centre as part of a £9 million project.

But more than a year later, nothing is happening with the site.

A spokesperson for Telereal Trillium: “We see the King’s Lynn Post Office site as a medium to long term hold until market conditions improve, however we remain committed to the redevelopment of the site when practically viable.”

The building has been empty since the Post Office was moved into the
WH Smith branch in Norfolk Street in 2007.

The developer has permission to create 27 flats within the building. Shops, restaurants and cafes were also proposed.
