Shoppers and visitors to Lynn’s town centre are being encouraged to get their blood pressure checked at an event this week.
Members of the Lynn Priory Rotary Club are working with health professionals to provide tests at a stand in the Tuesday Market Place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday in a bid to promote stroke awareness.
Club president Dr Peter Tasker said: “The event is intended to raise awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure, which contributes to 50 per cent of strokes.
“Typically at such events, as many as 300 people have their blood pressure checked and at least 10 per cent of those checked are advised to seek further medical advice from their own doctors.”
The event supports The Stroke Association’s work to raise awareness of the risk of a stroke.
